Schuyler Roche & Zwirner's President Named One of Nine International 'Super Lawyers'

Michaels as one of only nine attorneys in the state of Illinois to achieve "Super Lawyer" status in the field of international law. Ballots mailed to some 47,000 Illinois attorneys elicited the nominations from which Michaels' name emerged as a frontrunner.

While 2,200 attorneys have been designated Super Lawyers for 2007, Michaels remains only one of nine practitioners in the state of Illinois to receive this distinction in the field of international law. Each year, through attorney-driven research and independent polling, Law & Politics chooses Super Lawyers in numerous states, never exceeding five percent of practicing attorneys in any one state. Only "lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement" earn the Super Lawyer designation, its editorial board explains on its website.

Law & Politics is one of the legal industry's most credible organizations involved in professional evaluation, asking attorneys who have practiced law for five or more years to nominate both colleagues and competitors. Qualified attorneys may nominate members of their own firm if, and only if, nominating as many or more attorneys from competing firms. In this point-based system, votes earned outside a nominee's law firm carry more weight than votes acquired within.
